  11. Being a Simpsons fan, I have enjoyed OFF icons made by
  12. other folks out there. However, since none of the icon 
  13. collections featured a wide variety of Springfield 
  14. characters, I felt it my duty (and pleasure) to
  15. bring to the world the most complete collection of 
  16. Simpson icons yet to be found.
  17.  
  18. I do not have the full collection here; some major 
  19. secondary characters are missing. However, if you 
  20. download the second Simpsons collection (at many
  21. sites), you'll be able to enjoy lots more Simpson
  22. icons!

  24. I hope you enjoy my icons. It was a "labor" of true  
  25. fandom. (Is making Simpson icons really "work?")

  27. Cost....
  28. I think icons should be for the enjoyment of all, without 
  29. hidden costs.  So instead of asking for money (which I 
  30. couldn't do anyway, as they are copyrighted characters), 
  31. I would ask one thing--if you like these icons and keep them, 
  32. please send me either a postcard or an e-mail and let me 
  33. know what you think of them. I thrive on feedback, and 
  34. would be interested in all comments. (And besides, the 
  35. more e-mail I get, the more icons I'll make!)

  38. I want to thank Fox and Matt Groening, for their 
  39. wonderful show. Without them, these icons wouldn't exist!
  40. I also want to thank Dave Schutz, whose icons I have 
  41. enjoyed immensely. They're some of the best out there, 
  42. in a "Colossal Icon" collection. He used a wonderful 
  43. little application to put his icons on. When you turn 
  44. on balloon help, the icons have funny text inside the 
  45. balloon help. I have borrowed this application, and 
  46. have put my Simpsons icons on them, so you can read a 
  47. quote from yourfavorite character (however, there is 
  48. no actual sound).

  50. Legal Stuff...
  51. You may freely distribute this collection of Simpson
  52. icons, provided you distribute the collection in its
  53. original form with all the files intact, give me credit, 
  54. and do not charge anything for them. If you do use these
  55. icons, I would be delighted to see what you've done. Feel 
  56. free to send me things that use my icons, and thanks!

  61. 1. You really need system 7.
  62. 2. Do a "Get Info" (File menu) on the original icon file.
  63. 3. Click on the icon in the window; choose "Copy" (Edit menu).
  64. 4. Close the window, then "Get Info" on destination file/disk.
  65. 5. Click on the icon, choose "Paste" (Edit menu).
  66. 6. Exclaim in wonderment at the artistry and subtlety of the icon.
  67. 7. Enthusiastically send e-mail or postcard comments to creator.
